Hello, My name is Joe... I feel like that should follow with, "And I work in a button factory." which is no where near the truth... i actually work for a Holiday Inn.

Any way, I'm Joe, I am a 23 old gay man living in the Detroit Metro Area. VIVA MIDWEST!!
I have been "out" for more the 5 years now, I first came out when I was in High School, but only to select people, and even that was just "Oh, I'm Bi" or something like that. Then something WONDERFUL happend. I graduated, and went away to Northern Michigan University, 500 miles away from my home of Troy. I started my freshman year as an "OUT" student. Walked to class as a proud, neive, but proud gay boy.

It wasnt long after my first year of college that it was found out by the rest of the world, not even 500 miles could stop that.
First my mom found out, and she cried for days, then my mom told my Grandmother, OH GOD!!! She is the gossip queen of the family, love her to death, shortly after my grandma found out, the rest of my family knew as well. Oh well, that just means the I am totally out of the closet. AND I LOVE IT!!!

Little more personal info on me, I am the oldest of two siblings, my brother Nick, is 21, and a student at Grand Valley State. My sister Meagan, is 19 and a freshman at Michigan State.

My love life... I think that love is one of most complicated words in the English language. I have had my relationships, the longest was a year and a half with a man that I still adore, and admire for the work that he does for the Gay community of Michigan, and he and I still continue to have a great friendship. Still to this day I am not sure if I just loved him, or if I was in Love with him. But i do feel some sort of love for him still to this day. Other then being in Love, I am not sure if I ever have, I dont know that I will, But I am sure that if/when it happens ::BAM:: I will know it, like lightning. For the longest time I would go out and search for Love, find it for myself so I could be happy. But now i think that I am going to stick with the single life with the hopes that it will just happen, and take me by surprise. Hey, I'm a romantic.

THE FRIENDS: Right away i have to mention my bestest, best friend in the world... Krissy... I have to tell the story of how we met. We were students at Northern together, and it was our freshman year. She was from a small little Yopper(word that discribes the ppl or places of the Upper Pen) town called Chassel, I was from Detroit. It was 2nd semester and it was snowing like mad, and I was visting with my study pal Joy, who was suite-mates with Krissy. Everyone was in Joys room and Krissy came in to see what the comotion was, and she walked in, and we were introduced, and one of the first things out of my mouth were, "don't even think about it honey, ::snap, snap:: I'm gay!!" Now remember I said that i had just fully come out of the closet, and i was an out, proud, NIEVE gay boy. This phrase, offended Krissy, obviously, and she was like whatever, but still had that neive sense of small town mindedness (if thats a word) Well any way, Joy and I finished our studying and went to go watch a movie, the name of the movie has escaped me for life, Krissy prob knows which one it was, but I went into her room thru the bathroom and asked her if she wanted to join us, which she did, and which was the start of our FANTASTIC relationship... I LOVE YOU KRISSY.

Brent; brent and I first met at a bar called the Male Box, he was a bartender, and i was a minor who got away with murder there. nobody knew how old i actually was. according to male box time i would be going on 24, haha. anyway, it was found out just before my 21st birthday, and everybody was pretty mad at me. Excpet brent and erica (more on her later). Well it is now three years later, and we have developed this brother/brother(sister) relationship. We love each other like family. we have our stiffs sometimes, but i wouldnt trade the time i spend with brent for the world. I like to say we have our own Vegas together (what happens somewhere, stays there). All-in-All he is my Will and i will always be his Jack (sometimes Karen depending on the day). Love you brent.

Erica; THE BEST! creative, funny, bitchy, excentric, mellow, artsy-fartsy. I also met erica at the male box, and we also have a "vegas" relationship. But we are always there. for shopping, lunches, tattoo's. I would say that Erica is the common-sense of the three of us, she always points out the reality of the situation, and i love her for that. She is by far the Grace of the group. (i guess i make up the other two... haha) love you erica.

Kim; The Dyke with a gay man traped inside her. How would she be described...
CRACK YOU UP ALL THE TIME!!! Kim you got me hooked on LiveJournal, so this is my dedication to you... We will share many laughs and times together, it will be great!!!

Mikey; Mikey likes it. Hey, Mikey.. Working with him on Triangle Events are the greatest fun when you are around. I have known him for a short time, but alreayd he and I hit it off where we just L-A-U-G-H!!! I will never forget Rocky Horror!!! So Mike, Lets Time Warp Again.

I feel like I should add more from my childhood. But not the early stuff, I'll stick with High School. I started high school normal enough, went to a HUGE public school. Made some new friends, lost some of the old ones (you always do). There was one problem. I am ADD and Dyslexic. High school was HELL!!! The first semester I had 1.69 GPA, they were not around to help the way that they should have. The Troy school district was at the point of letting me drown. I got through the first year of Athens alive. Then I was enrolled into a private school by the name of Eton Academy, a school designed for teaching kids with learning disabilities like mine. It is a 1-12 grade school, the largest population being in the elementary, and getting smaller in middle school part, and finally the smallest in the high school. I started there in my sophomore year. I EXCELLED!!! I was actually proud of myself, I got involved. I had self-esteme, I didnt have to come out of the closet, but i did only to a few ppl. My junior year, I got involved with student government just has a home room rep, but that was enough, by my senior year, i ran for Student Council President, and won both terms. By the beginning of my senior year my GPA was up to 3.46, my ACT scores were very high, I was ON TOP OF THE WORLD. I applied to 5 colleges threw out Michigan, and was accepted to them all. YAY for me! And you know the rest, I accepted the acceptance to Northern Michigan.

All in all I love my life, and I want to share!!! Stay tuned
